No decision is made lightly when you care about doing your best for the planet and people. Here at the studio, we have a healthy obsession for where things are coming from and where they will end up, and what both mean for the planet. We use this to guide our every action.
Disobedience was born out of a frustration that we dont realise the consequence of our decisions and conspicuous consumption towards its impact on the planet. Our existence is a commitment to doing things differently, doing things better and doing things with integrity.

Revitalising of disappearing traditions
Durable & Least Harmful Materials
Sometimes, the answers for the future lie in traditional ways of production. For instance indigenous crops that can be farmed organically or native and cruelty-free wool varieties. Many of these traditional producers face unfair competition from mass producers, leading to the eventual disappearance of these age-old materials. Our curiosity for finding the most durable and least harmful materials takes us across the length and breadth of the country in search of the best answers.

Empowerment of underserved communities
More soul in every shoe
We wanted our shoes to be definitively different from anything you’ve ever worn before. And while the design is one half of the story, the other half is a tale of the beautiful souls we collaborate with. Many of the designs we create employ the unique skills of artisans from differently abled communities or tribal communities, and their personal touch is the hallmark of a Disobedience design.
Upliftment of women artisans
Strength in Every Stitch
Historically disadvantaged. — The world has a lot of making up to do towards the cause of women's upliftment. We at the studio make sure that we do our share, with over 80% of our in-house team and collaboration teams being women. We believe that putting monetary resources in the hands of a woman lifts up her entire family and sets her children off towards a brighter future.
